Around 2130 hours this evening, E54 was dispatched along with Co. 88 and mutual aid units to N Pine St and Oak Hill Dr in Co. 88's first due for a house fire. X88-2 (Krupilis) arrived on scene to find a 1-1/2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing from the front of the structure and confirmed entrapment. E88 & E59 arrived and put an 1-3/4" attack line in service on side A of the structure. Crews located the victim in a rear bedroom of the house and began extrication immediately. Upon arrival, E54's crew reported to the rear of the structure to assist with extrication of the victim. The victim was removed from the house and transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Control was marked at 2203 and crews remained on scene for several hours performing extensive overhaul and assisting investigators. Good job by all, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the victims.
